Michael W. Brooks received a J.D. from American University in 1994, and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University in 1995. He has a B.A. from Vassar College. Mr. Brooks is currently admitted to practice in New York, Illinois and California. His practice consists of tax law and estate law, although for years he sub-specialized in the areas of executive compensation and employee benefits, including ERISA. He is an expert in short and long-term incentive plans, deferred compensation plans, employment contract and qualified plans. He is a member of the Desert Bar Association. He has successfully represented taxpayers in tax disputes with Federal and State taxing authorities, and authored over a 100 tax opinion letters. Mr. Brooks grew up in Palm Springs, where his family has resided for over forty years.
